Whilst playing the game I found myself to try and do my best for Phelps. Like trying my best instead of crashing into cars like you have to when you are playing Grand Theft Auto. You get enough information about him so you know what his aims are.

2.

Given that we are given information about their history shown flash backs throughout the game, we can see the world through their eyes pretty well. The fact that we are given voice overs from his thought lets us listen to them and makes us act as if our thoughts are his.

3.

Yes as Phelps is a police officer they have to abide by the law. Hence why Phelps doesn’t like to make fast decisions as these could be the wrong ones, unlike Rusty. You have to make decisions with the thoughts of Phelps being spoken to you, so you will always have that shaping their behaviour.

4.

The game identity I split between partly made up of me and the character I am playing, this is because some of the decisions I make in the game I wouldn’t make in real life. However I have to think about what I do when I’m playing it will affect the rest of the game.
